Introduction: Queer Lit Q&As

This Saturday I’m going to be launching a new feature on my blog: short Q&As with authors working in-or-around queer lit. The last year or so I’ve encountered more and more queer writers. I’ve always appreciated what a supportive community this particular world can be, and I wanted to cast a little extra light around if I could.

The Q&A is very simple, just two questions.

1. Tell me about a novel/short story/poem/collection of yours that you are the most proud of/feel didn’t get the attention you would have liked it to/you feel like shouting about today…

2. Recommend me a novel/short story by someone else that you think everyone should be reading…

A bit of shameless self-promotion, and a bit of paying it forward. That’s what this whole thing’s built on, right?

I will be launching this weekend with ‘Nathan Burgoine on Saturday 7th and Kevin Klehr on the 8th (seeing as I’ve rather shamelessly pinched the idea from them in the first place) and there’ll be two more every weekend. I’ve got some great people in the queue already, including Mark Ward/Chris Colby, Michael Ampersant, Evan J. Peterson, Margaret Killjoy, Rob Rosen and a whole bunch of others coming up…

And most importantly: if you fancy signing up to have your own Q&A spot, please feel free to drop me an email at matthewbrightwriter@gmail.com. The more the merrier!
